CHILTERN HILLS AREA

Welcome to The Arts Society and to the 15 Societies in the Chiltern Hills Area

The Arts Society has approximately 4000 members in the Chiltern Hills Area, which covers Buckinghamshire as well as parts of Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Please visit the Find a Society map page to locate your nearest society. You can send an enquiry regarding membership through each Society’s own website, or by clicking on the relevant Society from the list.

Each Society puts on about 10 talks a year, together with a varied programme of Special Interest Days, outings, visits and opportunities to make new friends. Join us now, to start experiencing the tremendous variety of talks on all aspects of the arts: from fine art to landscape design, from architecture to music, history, gardens, photography and much more. The Arts Society's Member Societies have exclusive access to The Arts Society’s Directory to find the right expert speaker on an enormous and diverse range of subjects.

Your chosen Society may also offer opportunities to participate in heritage projects and to join visits in the UK or abroad.

The Arts Society (formerly known as NADFAS) aims to advance arts education and appreciation, alongside promoting the preservation of artistic heritage throughout the UK and abroad. It is a UK-based charity with over 90,000 members supporting a network of over 360 local Societies in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.  It first began in the Chiltern Hills Area and has grown from a small group set up by Patricia Fay that first met in 1965, and rapidly expanded into a national and international network of over 90,000 members.

Membership of The Arts Society enhances enjoyment of the arts. Members of all ages enjoy making new friends, the stimulus of learning and the satisfaction of volunteering. Click here to find out more.

In 2018 we celebrated the Golden Jubilee of The Arts Society. We hope that many more members will join us and we look forward to welcoming you soon at a Society in the Chiltern Hills Area.
